Artist
Gustave Caillebotte (1848–1894) was a French painter closely associated with the Impressionists, known for his realist depictions of urban and domestic life in Paris. Wealthy in his own right, he was also a major patron and collector of Impressionist art, helping fund and organize several of the movement’s landmark exhibitions.
